Birding Scandinavia ... Norway
Norway—the land of the midnight sun. Known for its mountains, fjords and rugged scenery. Bird watching in virtually untouched nature is always exciting, be it Norway’s premier Arctic birding location, the Varanger Peninsula and the Pasvik Valley, or some endless forest in the east. However, one does not have to travel to beyond the arctic circle to enjoy watching Norway’s bird life. The south of Norway provides unspoiled woodlands, lakes and mountain habitats. Here we can mention two of the better birding areas, Dovrefjell in central Norway and The Hardangervidda in the west. And lastly Norway’s coastline. Here you will find huge seabird colonies like the Lofoten archipelago in the north to the migration hot spots on the west coast like Lista, Jæren and not forgetting the tiny island of Utsira. The trips are varied and cover everything from rarity hunting on Utsira to "learn bird identification on the East-West Passage. However, if the dates don't suit your timetable then try one of my customized trips.
